Cameron Skinner- The Boy:

We chose this actor to play the role of the main character in our production as he fitted our requirements to create a character that will appeal and attract out target audience. He is 19 years old, therefore of a similar age to our intended audience. This will attract audiences as they will feel they are equal to him and can relate to him. He is what most would consider physically attractive, and his attributes suit the Indie/Alternative fashion style, culminating in a suitable, 'trendy' image that will appeal to both boys and girls within our target audience -boys will derive fashion inspiration from him and will aim to be like him/girls will find him attractive and aim to be with him.

Kay Seary- The Girl:

We chose this actress to take on the role of the boys lost love, seen in his flash backs and memories as, similarly to the male actor, she suits the requirements of the target audience. She is aged 19, she is physically attractive and her fashion correlates with the Indie/Alternative style. Yet again, girls will find attraction to her style and want to be like her and boys will find attraction to her and want to be with her.

Another factor we took into consideration when choosing these actors was that they are involved in a relationship with each other in reality. We felt that this would be beneficial when we came to film as their portrayal of a couple on screen would be realistic and more emotion provoking.

Emily Girdler- Mistaken Girl:

We chose this actress to be used at the girl that the boy mistakes walking along the front for his lost love as many of her physical attributes are similiar to that of the actress playing the girl (lost love) making it easy to film our scene whereby the boy confuses her with his ex. It was also to our benefit to use this actress as she was also a member in our group and was therefore always available to film and a reliable actress.

The Band

Anthony- The Lead Singer

We chose this actor as our lead singer as he is charismatic when performing and we knew he was a capable actor when learning the words and miming to songs form his previous experience. It was also important that he be of an age that would appeal to our target audience and have a look that was of the Indie genre -his slender frame, long curly hair and fashion sense in general fitted this and it was to our benefit to use him within our video.

Alice- The Keyboardist

We chose Alice to be the keyboard artist in our band as we felt she had a quirky look that would fit the Indie/Alternative genre well and audiences would find appealing. We also decided to include a female member to the band, although in the real band there is not one, as we wanted to broaden our audience and we felt that by including a female artist in the band we would do this as women/girls would want to be her and look up to her, and men/boys would find her attractive and want to be with her. She was also of a relevant age group.

Charlie- The Drummer

We decided to use this actor as our drummer as much like the others his attributes fit our requirements -he fit the age group (between 17-19), his look would appeal to indie audiences and he was a dedicated and charismatic actor who was available to film at last minute organised shoots.

Ryan- The Guitarist (Below)

We chose to use Ryan as our guitarist as not only did he meet our age and look requirements, but he is also a guitarist in real life and was therefore able to learn the riffs and make our footage seem altogether more realistic. I felt that it was because of Ryan's guitar skills that the performance was pulled together and it made it less obvious that not all of the actors could play the instruments they were allocated.
